Welsh luxury hosiery and knitwear manufacturer Corgi Hosiery will be exhibiting a new limited edition range at a four-day Coronation Festival at Buckingham Palace in July to celebrate the 60th anniversary of The Queen’s Coronation.

The specially developed range, designed to coincide with the festival, will be showcased together with socks and knitwear from the Welsh company’s current range which is designed and produced in Carmarthenshire but sold all over the world.

The Coronation Festival will celebrate innovation, excellence and industry, showcasing the broad range of fine brands, including Corgi which has earned the recognition of a Royal Warrant over the years. Royal Warrants are a mark of recognition to individuals or companies who have supplied goods or services for at least five years to the Households of The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh or The Prince of Wales. Warrants have always been regarded as hallmarks of quality, excellence and service.

Corgi was awarded its Royal Warrant by HRH The Prince of Wales in 1989 and the Prince is said to have been an ardent supporter of the Carmarthenshire-based family company ever since. He has also visited its Ammanford factory, located just a short distance from Llwynywermod, the Welsh home of Their Royal Highnesses, The Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall.

“We are thrilled to be taking part in the Festival - it truly is an honour to be involved. We are looking forward to meeting our fellow warrant holders at what is sure to be a great occasion,” Chris Jones, Director of Corgi, said.

During the four-day Coronation Festival, visitors to the Corgi exhibition stand in the grounds of Buckingham Palace will be treated to a live hosiery-making demonstration by the great-grandson of the company’s founder, Rhys Jones.

Since 1892, Corgi Hosiery has been producing high quality socks and knitwear at its factory in Carmarthenshire, South West Wales. Using only the best yarns and manufacturing methods handed down through the generations, the company strives to maintain the uncompromising commitment to quality that has always been at the heart of the Corgi brand.
