The Lycra Company, a global leader in fibre and technology solutions for the apparel industry, has revealed its latest legwear innovation concepts for the 2026/27 season. Developed in collaboration with trend forecasters at Stijlinstituut Amsterdam, the collection examines how people live, dress and express themselves today.

The concepts are organised into four inclusive lifestyle categories: Work/School, Sport, Chill and Going Out. Rather than focusing on traditional demographics, the approach embraces diversity across age, gender and personal style, reflecting the fluidity of modern lifestyles.

Lycra fibre has played a pivotal role in the evolution of legwear for more than six decades, delivering stretch, comfort, fit and durability across hosiery, socks and tights. From everyday essentials to performance and fashion-led products, the fibre has enabled brands and manufacturers to meet changing consumer expectations while maintaining quality and longevity. Continuous innovation has seen Lycra fibre adapted to support shaping, moisture management and enhanced comfort, helping legwear perform across multiple uses and occasions.

From teenagers wearing school uniforms to adults balancing professional life with fitness, and style-conscious consumers embracing glamour at any age, the new concepts demonstrate how fibre innovations can adapt to a wide range of needs. The collection highlights versatile solutions designed to support comfort, performance and self-expression across contemporary lifestyles.
