The Lycra Company has confirmed its return to Milano Unica from 8 to 10 July 2025, positioning itself once again as a key innovator in sustainable textile solutions. Taking place at Rho Fiera Milan in Hall 4 within the MarediModa area, the Lycra Brand Lounge will present the world’s first renewable elastane fibre available at commercial scale: bio-derived Lycra EcoMade.
Developed with 70% renewable resources, including field corn, the fibre offers a responsible alternative to conventional elastane without compromising performance or requiring changes to design or production processes. The SS27 collections preview will spotlight how leading brands and mills are already integrating the fibre into real-world garments.
Visitors to the Lounge will see first-hand how Italian technical fabric specialist Carvico and premium American denim label Agolde are bringing the bio-derived Lycra EcoMade fibre to market. The dedicated display area will highlight these collaborative examples, demonstrating the fibre’s versatility across swimwear, underwear, athleisure, and denim applications.
In addition to showcasing physical garments, the Lycra Brand Lounge will immerse visitors in multimedia experiences. Highlights include a virtual reality journey through Iowa’s cornfields, following the fibre’s transformation from crop to final material.
“Seeing our partners turn bio-derived Lycra EcoMade fibre into high-quality fabrics and garments confirms that we are moving in the right direction,” said Alistair Williamson, Vice President EMEA and South Asia at The Lycra Company. “Innovation and sustainability must go hand in hand, and our mission is to deliver scalable solutions that combine performance, comfort, and environmental responsibility.”
The Lycra Company continues to build on its strategy to create sustainable fibre and technology solutions for the global apparel market. With its third consecutive showing at Milano Unica, it reaffirms the event’s importance as a hub for fostering innovation and industry collaboration.
