Coloreel and D-house have entered into a partnership to demonstrate instant thread colouring technology through the D-house design and technology centre for fashion brands in Milan, Italy.

“The D-house partnership is a great opportunity for Coloreel to demonstrate our technology and for the fashion world to learn how to enhance consumer experience and perception of their brands through a new level of modern, creative and sustainable embroideries,” said Coloreel CEO Torbjörn Bäck. “The location of D-house in the centre of Italy and its expertise in running design projects will provide a perfect hub for different customers to experience the Coloreel technology hands-on.”

D-house and Coloreel will also co-exhibit at selected industry trade fairs starting with Lineapelle in Milan on September 22nd to 24th.

Coloreel’s instant thread colouring technology has also just been awarded the Encouragement for Action Fashion Innovation Award by the Stockholm Fashion District.

“The colouring of thread and fabrics often requires very large amounts of water which, together with residual waste and chemicals, are discharged into our lakes and seas,” the award’s judging panel observed. “This year’s winner has, with the help of new technology, created a process that colours each single thread without water while in production. No water pollution and no residual waste. This is a technology that, in the near future, can be scaled and with the same principle be used for fabrics, knits and more.

“Coloreel has, with its digital technology, created the possibility for a positive and sustainable change in the fashion industry and has once again shown that Sweden is a country with a strong innovation force.”
