Frederic Bougeard, President of Messe Frankfurt France has issued the following press statement regarding the cancellation of September’s Texworld Paris and co-located shows>

“On behalf of Messe Frankfurt France, I would like to share with you the latest development of the September edition of TEXWORLD Paris and collocated shows APPAREL SOURCING Paris, AVANTEX Paris, LEATHERWORLD Paris.

In the last two months our team has been making their best effort in monitoring the progress of the post-COVID-19 recovery in our and your markets. Our decision on the organization of the September edition should be based on the following indicators:

1.     Reasonable conditions for show organization including official authorization, clear sanitary requirements and travel measures

2. Favourable buying behaviour from key buyers

The French authorities, so far, have not explained to show organizers clearly their sanitary requirements for big events/ shows scheduled in September. In addition, partial travel restrictions may apply to non-Schengen visitors coming to France up till September. On top of these, our survey with buyers indicated that most of them are not ready to travel and place orders yet. After serious consideration of all these issues, we have decided it would be most responsible of us to forgo the September edition of TEXWORLD Paris/APPAREL SOURCING Paris/ LEATHERWORLD Paris.

We understand you may feel disappointed about the decision, which is not an easy one to make, however, in this challenging time when we all are trying very hard to rebuild our business, we must focus on what can be achieved. This is why, our team has already started to work on different initiatives on preparing you for the February (1 – 4) 2021 edition.

I am delighted to inform you that we have developed a digital solution to connect you with buyers in our community and to enhance your brand exposure online all year long.

Our team or your local contact will be in touch the next couple of weeks to give you more details about the digital solution. We thank you for your patience and confidence.

Let’s trade in February 2021.”
