Interfilière Lyon reports successful showcase

The latest Interfilière Lyon edition, which took place from 9-11 July at a new location, concluded successfully, reporting a high level of both visitor and exhibitor satisfaction, organisers report.

According to the show organisers, changing of the show location has been a challenging task, complicated by national and international political climate of the last few weeks, the Euro 2016, as well as economic forces. However, the full mobilisation of all stakeholders, such as the city of Lyon, the Parc Eurexpo, local service providers and other participants, simplified and facilitated show attendance for both exhibitors and visitors to this special Lyon-based edition.

“Fabrics, accessories and textile designs have never looked better thanks to the brightly lit hall, which contributed to the show’s striking appearance. As if suspended in time, Interfilière provided the ideal conditions for exhibitors and visitors to work without interruption or distraction,” commented organisers.

Visitor participation

Visitor participation is also reported to have been entirely satisfactory. With nearly 10,000 visitors, exhibitors knew which clients had confirmed their visit prior to the start of the show. The vast majority of appointments made ahead of the show were kept. Exhibitors were busy at their stands on the first two days, with a calmer atmosphere on the third day.

European visitors appeared to make a good impression, particularly those from France, Italy, Spain, Croatia, Romania and Albania. Russia entered the Top 10 list of visiting countries.

Positive feedback

According to the feedback from the show, new exhibitors are happy with their first participation at the show, many have expressed considerable satisfaction, including the French button and accessories manufacturer, Brochot. “We are very satisfied with our first participation. We’re happy with the overall visitor profile. Our verdict is entirely positive: clients showed a good level of curiosity and interest,” the company commented.

Liberty, the London‐based company famous for its prints, is also pleased with the exhibition: its intimates, sleepwear and sports collections proved very popular during the event. Liberty plans to continue the development of its intimates’ collection to showcase it at the January 2017 edition of Interfilière in Paris.

Personalized and innovative

“Partnership, accompaniment and collaboration are the keys to successful relationships between manufacturers and brands. As confirmed by the show range, standard products are the least popular sourcing options. It is important to stand out from the crowd by offering personalized, innovative, specific and technical products. Colour and creativity are must-have elements,” explain the show organisers.

The session featured an exceptional range of know-how and technical solutions thanks, in particular, to the presence of Bemis and fibre manufacturers, like Invista, which partnered the show’s Athleisure development.

Shapewear and seamless trends were confirmed with several innovations and developments, providing an ideal response to consumers’ quest for comfort, irrespective of the end‐use or application. Sustainable development remains a key issue.

This edition can also be characterized by the quality of the three forums: the General Forum (Intimates ‐ Loungewear - Sleepwear), the third edition of Momenti di Passione (Beachwear and Sport) and the Innovation Forum (Activewear) created in partnership with the Fédération de la Maille et de la Lingerie.

“We hope that the quality of samples showcased and the information communicated, the discovery of unexpected fabrics, exhibitors’ prototypes, the presence of prestigious guests, such as Tina Wilson and the catwalk shows will inspire new projects, contribute to boosting business and perhaps even allow the second half-‐year to be viewed with a greater sense of calm and optimism,” concluded organisers.
