Faisalabad headquartered Interloop is planning to invest $300 million to add a knitted apparel plant, an activewear plant, a denim fabric mill, a 6th hosiery plant and enhance its spinning and yarn dyeing capacity during the next 5 years, says Indian publication The Textile Magazine.

As part of its 2025 Vision Rollout, Pakistan based Interloop will also be adding further capacity by investing in a fully vertical apparel facility to give customers complete supply chain transparency, as well as taking the company’s annual capacity to 40 million pieces of apparel.

Started off with 10 knitting machines in 1992, Interloop has now grown into one of the world’s largest hosiery manufacturers and a vertically integrated company with state-of-the-art spinning, yarn dyeing, knitting and finishing facilities.

With over 5000 of the latest Italian knitting machines, 21,000+ employees and an organizational network spread across three continents, Interloop has the capacity to produce 700 million pairs of socks and tights annually, for top international brands and retailers, in Europe, Asia and USA, the news website said.

With current annual turnover to the tune of USD 230.5 million, Interloop is expanding its hosiery business as well as venturing into the apparel segment including denim, knitwear and activewear.

According to the report, Interloop hopes to support clients by providing value added services including trends and analytics, design services, collaborative planning, forecasting, warehousing and logistics. The company is planning to generate a quarter of its business through these value-added services building and expanding capabilities in Pakistan, Europe and North America, it said.

Interloop has become one of the largest suppliers of socks globally, to major brands and retailers such as Nike, adidas, Puma, Target, H&M, C&A, Amazon, and Uniqlo. The company manufactures across a wide range of categories including athletic, performance, fashion, and casual across all genders and sizes.

Interloop is in the process of expanding its capacity to 6500 knitting machines at its manufacturing locations in Pakistan and Sri Lanka. It is also investing in its digital capabilities to transform its way of working across product design and development, manufacturing, and customer services, the report concluded.
