Karl Mayer is reinforcing its commitment to its core competencies of warp knitting, warp preparation and technical textiles, underlining its ambition to act as a driving force for textile innovation. The leading textile machinery manufacturer will present the results of this strategic focus at Techtextil, taking place in Frankfurt am Main from 21 to 24 April.
At Messe Frankfurt, visitors to hall 12.0, booth B79, can expect a forward-looking exhibition featuring the latest textile developments, new ideas for business growth and concepts aimed at opening up fresh markets. The presentation is designed to encourage exchange with Karl Mayer’s textile specialists and to demonstrate practical benefits for customers.
Coinciding with Techtextil, Karl Mayer will open its new Textile Innovation Center in nearby Obertshausen. During the Opening Week, trade fair visitors are invited to experience this new centre dedicated to the future of textiles.
Technical warp knits will play a central role in the showcase. Hollow fibre mats produced on Karl Mayer warp knitting machines with weft insertion demonstrate the wide-ranging potential of these structures. Their permeable surfaces enable them to perform demanding functions, including oxygenating blood outside the body, cleaning printer ink and carbonating beverages. In filtration technology in particular, these materials open up new possibilities. Live machine demonstrations during the Opening Week will illustrate how efficiently such warp knits can be produced.

Also on display will be reinforcement fabrics manufactured on Karl Mayer multiaxial machines, highlighting opportunities for new applications. Functional clothing forms another focus, with developments for defence, workwear and sun protection. Specially designed products for outdoor summer use have been tested for UV protection, with the results presented at the exhibition.
The creative scope of warp knitting will be further demonstrated through a collection of leisure and sports footwear, showing how efficient high-performance machines can be used to manufacture fashionable shoe fabrics that combine comfort, style and safety.
The presentation is complemented by a video overview of warp preparation. Karl Mayer underlines its position as the only full-range supplier in this field, offering a comprehensive portfolio to the market.
Visitors seeking deeper insight into the exhibits and their production are invited to the opening of the Textile Innovation Center in Obertshausen and can pre-register here. The centre brings together pioneering textile solutions from the company’s archive and development laboratory, alongside a modern machine area for testing new ideas. Direct dialogue with experts allows guests to explore both the technological and economic potential of innovative approaches.
