Lenzing AG has once again secured first place in the 2025 Hot Button Report, published by Canadian non-profit organisation Canopy. Scoring 34.5 out of 40 points, the company was recognised for having no known risk of sourcing from ancient and endangered forests, confirming its position as one of the world’s most sustainable producers of regenerated cellulose fibres.
“This award is more than just a result – it is proof of our role as an industry benchmark. Sustainability must be viewed holistically and with foresight, and everything new that we create today is a point of reference for the future,” said Rohit Aggarwal, CEO of Lenzing AG.
Canopy highlighted Lenzing’s global biodiversity projects in Austria, Albania, Burundi, Brazil, China, DR Congo, and Tanzania, as well as its advancements in chemical management. The company has now met advanced sustainability standards in two of its three viscose plants, reinforcing its holistic approach to responsible production.
The Hot Button Report assesses 34 of the world’s largest cellulose fibre producers on sustainable wood and pulp sourcing, the use of alternative raw materials, and efforts to protect ancient and endangered forests. Lenzing’s consistently strong performance places it well above the industry average.
