Première Vision made its Canadian debut on 22–23 April 2025, drawing over 2,150 professionals and students to the Grand Quai du Port de Montréal for a successful first edition. Organised in collaboration with the mmode Cluster, and supported by Tourisme Montréal and the Ministry of Tourism, the event marked a key moment for Canada’s fashion and textile industry.

With more than 100 international exhibitors from countries including Canada, Turkey, Japan, Morocco, France, China, and the United States, the show offered a comprehensive showcase of textile innovation and global collaboration. In addition, a packed programme of 24 conferences delivered by 38 expert speakers attracted over 1,500 attendees.

This inaugural edition underscored Montréal’s strategic role as a financial and creative hub for the North American fashion sector. High-level participants including Alia Hassan-Cournol, City of Montréal advisor for economic development, and Marie Lapierre, the French Consul General in Montréal, engaged with industry stakeholders to discuss challenges and future opportunities.

Thierry Langlais, Vice President of Operations at Première Vision, expressed confidence in the event’s future: “The enthusiasm and high turnout confirm the need for localised industry gatherings, especially given current geopolitical instability. Plans for the 2026 edition are already underway.”

Mathieu St-Arnaud Lavoie, General Director of the mmode Cluster, echoed this sentiment: “Hosting Première Vision for the first time proves that Montréal and Québec are home to innovative and creative fashion businesses. We’re proud to have helped foster international dialogue and showcase the diversity of our fashion ecosystem.”

Exhibitors and attendees alike highlighted the show’s vibrant energy and potential for future growth. Many participating brands and organisations, including ALDO Group, SSENSE, Mackage, Reitmans, Joseph Ribkoff, and Cirque du Soleil, underscored the value of having a global textile event on Canadian soil.

The successful launch of Première Vision Montréal signals growing momentum for the country’s fashion and textile industry. With strong demand already building, the next edition in 2026 promises to be even more impactful.
