Yarn Expo Shenzhen 2025, held from 26–28 June, attracted close to 40,000 visitors from 64 countries and regions, establishing itself as a vital sourcing and networking hub in South China. Taking place at the Shenzhen World Exhibition and Convention Center, the fair was co-located with Intertextile Shenzhen Apparel Fabrics, PH Value, and BIRD Fashion Fair, offering an end-to-end platform for the textile value chain.

Set against the backdrop of Guangdong’s strong manufacturing base and Shenzhen’s excellent connectivity, the fair featured a wide array of yarn and fibre innovations spanning six major product categories. These included cotton, wool, cashmere, fancy yarns, chemical fibres and metallic yarns, with many exhibitors placing a strong emphasis on sustainability and material innovation. Examples included Perino’s merino and possum blends and eco-friendly Lyocell options, all contributing to a focus on green development.

The event’s fringe programme was another key highlight, featuring the Textile Materials Innovation Forum under the theme New Fibre New World. Key presentations addressed functional and eco-friendly fibre development, complemented by curated zones for China Fibres and China Yarns Fashion Trends, and a Green Fibre Certified Area showcasing forward-thinking solutions.

Exhibitors praised the fair’s accessibility, quality of visitors, and the mid-year timing, which complements other global trade shows. Perino by Woolyarns highlighted the fair’s ability to connect with high-end designers in Guangzhou, while China’s Jingyi Group noted strong interest in its Lyocell-blended yarns from both domestic and overseas buyers. Local supplier Flying String Co., Ltd. confirmed the fair’s impact on the Guangdong market and its ability to draw relevant apparel industry traffic.

Visitors were equally enthusiastic. Sourcing professionals from Uzbekistan, Hong Kong and across China commended the variety and quality of exhibitors, the strategic fair timing, and the opportunity to engage in technical discussions and supplier relationships for the upcoming season. Yarn Expo Shenzhen was widely viewed as a practical and effective platform for identifying new partners and staying current with market developments.

Organised by Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd and several key Chinese industry associations, Yarn Expo Shenzhen continues to cement its role as a dynamic hub in the Greater Bay Area for fostering innovation, sustainability and cross-border business in the textile sector.
