Chinese yarn producer to showcase at FIMAST

Zhangzhou Weiyi Chemical Fiber focuses on producing various nylon yarns and covered spandex yarns for a wide range of textile applications.

The company was established in 2002, with a total investment capital of over US$ 300 million, and is a key enterprise of Zhangzhou City in Southern China. Weiyi has over 1,200 employees now and covers an area of 280 acres.

Weiyi focuses on producing various nylon yarns and covered spandex yarns for a wide range of textile applications, including hosiery, warp knitting, seamless, weaving, narrow weaving, circular knitting, and denim markets.

“Weiyi has introduced globally recognised advanced chemical fibre production equipment from Japan, Switzerland, America, France, Italy and Germany to China,” the company reports. “The technology includes Barmag 32-spinning-position high-speed spinning production line, Barmag and ICBT texturizing machines and over 2,200 covering machines from France ICBT, Japan Kataoka and Italy Menegatto. There are over 20 SSM rewinding machines from Switzerland and 20 Japan Ishikawa rewinding machines.” The company’s annual production capacity is over 15,000 tonnes.

Weiyi is certified under Oeko-Tex Standard 100, ISO9001 Quality Management, and ISO14000 Environmental Management. In 2015, Weiyi has been elected as the chief committee member of (SAC/TC209/SC6) in forming the industrial standards for Q/ZZWY 001-2015 Nylon & Polyester Double Covered Spandex Yarns in Textile Usage and Fusion and Run-Resistant Hosiery.
