Botto Giuseppe & Figli has placed cashmere at the heart of its Autumn/Winter 2026-2027 collection, celebrating the fibre’s universally recognised softness and luxury through new blends and finishes.

At a time when Italy’s manufacturing sector is under pressure, the Biella-based company has reaffirmed its identity with an updated interpretation of classic luxury. “We have redefined the concept of luxury, opting to present cashmere in a number of blends of excellence, such as wool, silk, and mohair to strengthen our identity and put out a fancier image,” said CEO Silvio Botto Poala.

The new collection reinforces the company’s dedication to its fully traceable supply chain. Alongside silk and mohair, Botto Giuseppe continues its commitment to sustainable wool, this season introducing machine-washable American wool from regenerative farms in Oregon, certified under the Responsible Wool Standard (RWS).

The company’s fifth Sustainability Report shows marked progress across several key metrics. Currently, 84% of raw materials are certified, with 30% of products traceable to a single farm. Water consumption for processing has been cut by 20% since 2021, 83% of chemical additives used are ZDHC-compliant, and 108% of energy consumed comes from renewable sources. Notably, greenhouse gas emissions have dropped 46% compared to 2018.

The new yarn collection includes:

- Flair: 100% Cashmere SFA, ultra-soft and silky in a higher yarn count.

- Flair Brush: 100% Cashmere SFA, fluffy and enveloping with a subtly hairy finish.

- Vintage Mohair: 60% Cashmere SFA, 40% Mohair RMS, vibrant and lightly textured.

- Cashtweed Mouliné: 100% Cashmere SFA with a traditional tweed appearance.

- Star & Soft Star: Cashmere yarns with polyamide and polyester for metallic effects.

- Flair Steel: 80% Cashmere SFA and 20% steel for shape-retaining knits with metallic shine.

Sustainable blends dominate, including Fairwool 50 (Superfine Merino and Cashmere), Slowtweed, and Cashberry (Silk and Cashmere). The updated American Wool TEC yarn uses RWS-certified merino that’s both breathable and machine washable.

The colour palette for the season balances subdued and earthy neutrals with pastels, intense reds, and vibrant electric blues. Shades of melange grey are enhanced with textures such as brushed and Casentino finishes, offering a luxurious, rustic appearance.

In parallel, Botto Giuseppe is promoting circularity through its new Almadira knitwear concept - a capsule project focused on upcycling warehouse yarns into expressive garments with a strong narrative and visual identity. Created with designer Giulia Albini, the four-piece collection draws inspiration from Alpine Bauhaus geometry, combining minimal silhouettes with soft, voluminous structures in a palette that evokes vintage mountain aesthetics.

Botto Giuseppe continues to build on nearly 150 years of heritage. Its Naturalis Fibra range and fabric lines such as Slowoolly, Flair Earth and PIN 1876 scarves reflect a longstanding dedication to sustainable innovation. With its global reach and manufacturing base in Biella and Tarcento, the company serves top international fashion houses across Europe, Asia, and North America.
