Lenzing achievements recognized by intimate apparel industry

Leading cellulosic fibre producer Lenzing has been selected by the Underfashion Club as a FEMMY 2013 Honoree in the Supplier category. Andreas Dorner, Lenzing’s Global Marketing Director for the Textile Fibers Group, accepted the award at the 2013 Femmy Gala in New York City this week.

Each year the Underfashion Club, the Intimate Apparel Industry’s non-profit organization, recognizes the achievements of industry leaders in five key categories. The annual Femmy Gala event celebrates these five honourees and also raises funds for the Underfashion Club’s education programs. This year’s five honourees are:

  • Supplier: Lenzing Textile Fibers
  • Retailer: Bloomingdale’s
  • Manufacturer: Cosabella
  • Innovation: Hautelook
  • Lifetime Achievement: Josie Natori

“Lenzing brings many elements of excellence to our industry,” says Mark Sandler, President of Komar Layering and a member of the Femmy Selection Committee.

“Lenzing’s innovative fibres help our industry create the luxurious, fashionable, comfortable, and sustainable intimate apparel our consumers demand. Lenzing is a dedicated and responsive supplier who attains very high standards in our very demanding industry. We are pleased to recognize their years of outstanding service.”

“I am very proud to accept the 2013 FEMMY on behalf of our employees here in the US and around the world,” says Andreas Dorner of Lenzing.

“We are dedicated to providing unique and beautiful fibres for remarkable intimate apparel that is a pleasure to design, make, sell, and wear. We truly appreciate this acknowledgement of our company’s efforts.”

Lenzing’s fibre collection includes Lenzing Modal, Tencel, MicroModal and other fibres known for their natural softness, colour vibrancy, moisture management and skin friendly properties, and other value-added performance features.

The Lenzing Group is a market leader with its headquarters in Austria, production sites in all major markets and a global network of sales and marketing offices. The company provides the global textile and nonwovens industry with high-quality industrially manufactured cellulose fibres and is the leading supplier in many business-to-business markets. The group’s product range extends from fibre pulp, cellulose standard and special fibres to high-quality plastic polymer products and engineering services.
