The Lycra Company and Fulgar are joining forces to bring innovation and sustainability to the heart of Italy’s textile industry with the Prato Textile Summit 2025. The event, taking place on 13 November at the Prato Textile Museum, will showcase the latest advancements in fibre technology and sustainable production within one of Europe’s most historic textile districts.
Prato was chosen for its role as a hub of Italian textile excellence - a place where craftsmanship meets digital transformation and global innovation. The summit will focus on strengthening collaboration across the Italian supply chain and supporting the transition toward more circular, traceable, and responsible production models.
“The Prato district represents the heart of Italian textile excellence,” said Ettore Manfrotto, Brand & Retail Account Manager at The Lycra Company. “Presenting our innovations here, such as the renewable Lycra EcoMade fibre, allows us to engage directly with those setting the industry’s standards. The fibre reduces CO₂ emissions by 44% while maintaining the high performance that defines the Lycra brand.”
Fulgar’s Marketing Manager, Daniela Antunes, added: “The Prato district is a key partner for Fulgar. Its combination of tradition, innovation, and technical expertise enables us to transform sustainable yarn research into real-world applications that strengthen the Italian textile chain.”
Speakers at the summit will include representatives from The Lycra Company, Fulgar, and environmental consultancy Quantis. Discussions will address sustainability metrics, new European regulations, and the industry’s ongoing shift toward low-impact manufacturing.
The event also highlights The Lycra Company’s commitment to local collaboration through its Maydown facility in Northern Ireland and the technical support provided by Lycra Lab Italy. Together with Fulgar, the company aims to foster a model of innovation that combines performance, sustainability, and Italian craftsmanship.
