MarediModa, the leading European trade show for fabrics and accessories dedicated to beachwear, lingerie, and athleisure, has once again confirmed its central position within the international textile industry. The 2025 edition, held at the Palais des Festivals in Cannes from 22–24 October, recorded a 3% rise in attendance alongside an increase in the overall quality of visitors.

“Over these three days, we have seen an increase in buyers compared to 2024,” said Claudio Taiana, President of MarediModa. “Particularly in the high and upper-medium segments of the market, we welcomed strong participation from major international brands and luxury groups. Italy confirmed its leading position in visitor numbers at 30%, followed by France, Spain – showing strong growth – the United Kingdom, and Germany.”

The twenty-third edition featured a trend focus curated by David Shah titled Making Waves, a creative call to challenge conventions and reshape fashion with purpose and innovation.

Three key projects drew significant attention: FLASH!, ATH, and SEAM – each offering unique expressions of creativity and innovation. FLASH! celebrated the sea through cutting-edge fabrics and artistic collaborations; ATH explored the spirit of athleisure with a message of freedom and performance; and SEAM highlighted the craftsmanship of third-party manufacturers who bridge the gap between design and production.

The long-established The Link contest for emerging designers also reached new heights, attracting a record 128 projects from 37 countries. Dedicated to nurturing young talent across Europe’s top fashion schools, The Link 2025 reinforced the event’s reputation as a launchpad for the next generation of creative professionals.

According to the jury, this year’s entries expressed a “positive and vibrant message, driven by the desire to rewrite the language of fashion with new symbols – brighter, more inclusive, and optimistic.”

Finalists presented their collections through both static displays and a live fashion show supported by MarediModa and its exhibitors. The winners were:

Beachwear – Mattia D’Aquila (Italy, Accademia PBS)

Underwear – Reka Kinga Bartha (Hungary, University of Art and Design – Cluj Napoca)

Athleisure – Michele Zazzeroni (Italy, Next Fashion School by Carlo Secoli)

With this successful edition, MarediModa reaffirms its role as a vital meeting point for creativity, innovation, and production across the European textile industry — a true laboratory where the future of fashion is shaped with awareness and vision.
