Merino PerformAustralian Wool Innovation (AWI) has unveiled its new Merino Perform range of extra fine Merino performance fabrics designed for next-to-skin wear.

AWI says that the natural qualities of Australian Merino such as natural breathability and elasticity, odour resistance, sweat and moisture control and suitability for multi-climatic environments, mean that Merino Perform fabrics provide an unrivalled level of next-to-skin comfort for everyday, active and sportswear in all climates, year round.

Merino PerformAWI’s says its Merino Perform program is a global partnership with some of the world’s best circular knitters and its supply chain currently includes market leading companies in Australia, China, Europe, Japan, Korea and Vietnam with plans to expand this network as demand grows. The supply chain offers a selection of Merino Perform fabrics suitable for a diverse range of active and sports activities.

The company is keen to stress that Merino Perform is produced according to Woolmark standards ensuring high quality, fit-for-purpose and ultimate next-to-skin comfort.

AWI will showcase the Merino Perform range at a series of international trade events in the coming weeks: Outdoor Retailer in Salt Lake City, Utah from 22-25 January; PGA 2009 Merchandise Show in Orlando, Florida from 29-31 January; ISPO Winter in Munich, Germany from 1-4 February.
