Nextil Group, one of the largest European textiles and apparel industries groups, has inaugurated a new production plant for luxury garments in Bologna, Italy. The main reason for the opening of the new factory is to offer Italian and French luxury brands garments with the Made in Italy label, which is required by many operators in the luxury segment.

Similarly, direct manufacturing in Italy opens up new growth opportunities for Nextil in the luxury segment, where the group has been working for about 30 years and has extensive experience.

The factory starts operations this week and, once fully operational, will have the capacity to produce 2000 garments per month during the first year. After that time, its activity is expected to contribute around 1 million euros to the group's pre-tax profits.

The new plant, which will develop the entire production process, will initially employ 20 people. The activity in Italy, which will operate under the name Nextil Luxury, has a commercial network distributed in different areas of the country.

The location in Bologna was selected for its excellent train communications with Milan, Florence and Venice, reference centers for the luxury textile industry in Italy.

Nextil currently has one production plant in the United States, six in Portugal, one in Guatemala and a small plant dedicated to the bathroom segment in Badalona, Spain. With a commercial presence on five continents, Nextil manufactures knitted fabrics and garments for the world's leading fashion companies in the fashion, swimwear, athleisure and lingerie sectors.
