For its second 2011 edition (20-22 September), dedicated to the autumn winter 2012-13 fabric collections, Première Vision's organisers say that indicators are looking positive, encouraging a climate of optimism. 24 new companies have signed up for the event, including a number of knitters from Italy, Turkey, Taiwan and Japan.

"Four months before the show, 694 companies have already confirmed their presence and the bar of 700 participants looks to be attained for the first time since the start of the worldwide financial crisis," a PV spokesperson said this week.

Producers take larger stands

Another positive indicator is said to be that many manufacturers have sought increases in their exhibition stand areas, a sign that that they are betting both on the event, and on increased business discussions and strong sales activity during the three days of the Paris show.

Among the exhibitors, who will be presenting their autumn winter 2012-13 collections, 24 will be new to the show while 8 are returning after several sessions of absence. "A total of 32 producers, from all style universes, will be enriching the multi-specialty offer of the world's premier fabric show, PV said, adding:

"Remember that all Première Vision exhibitors are admitted following a decision by the Selection Committee. This body of experts and international producers examines each candidacy according to rigorous criteria of creativity, quality of services, and financial reliability."

The new knitters at the September PV fall into three style categories:

Relax/ Knits

In the Relax/Knits category, newcomers include DJIC Limited a Taiwanese knitter of fabrics for lingerie and home wear, Austrian underwear and lingerie specialist Arula Textile Solutions which recently rebranded from Huber Tricot and Italian circular knitter Maglificio Maggia srl, a big name in top quality luxury jersey and piqué knits.

Seduction/ Knits

Seduction/ Knits attracts Turkish jacquard knits specialist Celiktas Tekstil, Prato (Italy) based Fordiani Riccardo which works with sophisticated yarns, including developments in organic cotton, nettle and algae and Carpi (Italy) based Nesatex whose collections include delicate finishes, various weights and ultra-fine gauges. Another Italian knitter Raw Tex Group, which makes sophisticated jersey fabrics from tee-shirt weights to dresses and sweat shirts.

Pulsation / Knits

New to this category is Japanese leader in raschel double knits for active sports, Fukui Tateami.
