Recover has announced a multi-year agreement with H&M to integrate its recycled cotton fibre, RCotton, into H&M’s product lines. The collaboration builds on work between the two companies that began in early 2024, focused on developing fabrics using Recover’s mechanically recycled cotton. This new agreement now enables the large-scale commercial adoption of the material across H&M’s global collections.
With more than 75 years of textile recycling expertise, Recover operates five recycling hubs strategically located across Europe, Asia, and the Americas. The company combines advanced fibre recovery technology with robust traceability and quality control, ensuring the supply of consistent, high-performance recycled fibres at industrial scale. These capabilities are vital to supporting major fashion brands as they shift towards circular and transparent material sourcing.
“We are proud to enter into this partnership with H&M Group,” said Anders Sjöblom, CEO of Recover. “Reliable access to recycled fibres at scale, with full traceability and quality consistency, is vital for the industry’s transformation. Our collaboration demonstrates how innovators and leading global brands can work together to make circular fashion available to all.”
Ulf Krigsman, Head of Material & Components at H&M Group, added: “At H&M Group, we aim to grow our business decoupled from resource extraction, keeping materials in circulation at their highest value. Recover’s expertise and proven ability to deliver recycled cotton at commercial scale make them a valuable partner as we work towards our goal of using only recycled or sustainably sourced materials by 2030.”
Recover’s recycled cotton offers a low-impact, cost-efficient alternative to virgin fibres, supporting fashion’s transition toward resource-efficient production. By leveraging its proprietary recycling processes, the company converts post-industrial and post-consumer cotton waste into high-quality fibres suitable for a wide range of garments.
Backed by STORY3 Capital and Goldman Sachs, Recover continues to expand its capacity and technological reach to accelerate the shift toward circularity in textiles. The partnership with H&M marks a significant step in demonstrating how scalable innovation and cross-industry collaboration can drive meaningful progress towards a sustainable fashion future.
