Karl Mayer opened a new sales office for its Warp Preparation/Weaving section in Shanghai in April this year. Being close to their customers gives companies a definite competitive edge and has been an integral part of Karl Mayer company philosophy for many years.

For more than ten years, Karl Mayer has had a team based in China to cater for its customers there, and the staff moved into modern offices in a new building in April of this year. The office block is in the Yangpu District of Shanghai and the team is therefore ideally placed to serve its customers. Karl Mayer’s new sales office is on the seventh floor and covers an area of 160 m2, with has meeting rooms and space for six members of staff.

The team, under the leadership of Mr. Teddy Rong, has sole responsibility for providing a sales and consultancy service in China. It comes under the umbrella of Karl Mayer Hong Kong and has access to all the expertise and knowledge of the entire Karl Mayer Group. Specialists travel to Shanghai regularly from the company’s headquarters in Obertshausen to demonstrate the latest machine developments and to gather information on the latest trends and developments taking place in the Chinese market. The marketing department in Obertshausen also supports the Shanghai office by participating in trade fairs and designing sales brochures.
