Lonati Group company Santoni SPA, a world leader in the production and distribution of circular knitting machines, will show an innovative project called K-Fabric revolution at ISPO in Munich from 26-29 January. The Italian company says the project will provide brand-new opportunities in the market.

Patrick Silva, marketing manager at Santoni, explains: “K-fabric revolution process takes advantage of the circular knitting machines’ technology developed by Santoni SPA and transforms circular knitted mesh into linear fabric, giving high-quality and economic benefits.”

“Thanks to the optimization of the supply chain – from the idea to production, passing through the prototype and the sample - K-Fabric revolution process meets the modern fashion market’s demand of customized and fast production cycles. Using seamless production flexibility even for the luxury industry, it basically makes possible the creation of new potentially revolutionary items,” Patrick Silva adds.

“Besides giving the opportunity to reach superfine gauges, this process can provide a natural bi-stretch effect without adding elastic yarns and easily allows the knitting of jacquard patterns of any dimension, complexity and placement. Moreover, K-Fabric revolution process allows with ease the mixture of fibres and a fast and sustainable production of small quantities.”

“The possibility to transform circular knitted mesh into linear fabric makes K-Fabric revolution process the new manufacturing paradigm par excellence, in order to answer both to the rising production demand of the luxury sector, the changes in the supply chain model and the search for new materials,” Patrick Silva adds.

Visitors to Santoni’s booth can expect to see wide range of innovations at ISPO 2020.

Seamless shoe uppers

A discerning international audience will also be shown Santoni’s X-MACHINE, a 4-feed knitting machine which uses sock knitting processes and concepts to produce seamless shoe uppers, characterized by almost unlimited intarsia patterns, including three-dimensional areas and eyelets for the laces.

“Thanks to its mapping system, the X-MACHINE can select different areas according to the type of yarn used and the various combinations chosen. This way, the upper is ready for the application of the sole. With the help of this machine, the production process becomes more efficient, reliable and economical,” Patrick Silva explains.

For the textiles and clothing sector, Santoni aims to continue to play a major role thanks to the introduction of two important new solutions.

40 gauge seamless

The company’s SM8-TOP2V circular knitting machine uses 40-gauge seamless technology to knit much more comfortable garments, which Santoni says provides the customer with a ‘second-skin effect’. Thanks to the garment’s elasticity and positioning of special supporting areas, the final product will be able to offer protection and support to the body. Additionally, the possibility to create breathable and ‘thermostat areas’ allows the release or retention of body heat according to need.

Sportswear solutions

Last but not least, Santoni’s SM8-TR1 offers innovative solutions for the sportswear sector. “The sportswear products created with this machine are remarkable for their fineness and lightness - the items knitted with natural yarns give a soft and pleasant touch as well as comfort. This technology allows to create body-map mesh, breathable and compression areas,” concludes Patrick Silva.
