Shima Seiki, will present its latest flat knitting technology at ITMA Asia + CITME 2025 in Singapore this October, continuing under its exhibition theme of Shima Seiki Reborn. The concept reflects a renewal of the company’s longstanding commitment to innovation and marks a new chapter in its approach to smart, sustainable production.

A highlight of the exhibition will be the production-ready version of the SES-R machine, following its prototype debut at ITMA 2023 in Milan. Paying tribute to the groundbreaking SES series, which helped transform shaped knitting, the SES-R is equipped with a new sinker system that enables advanced three-dimensional shaping. Combined with loop pressers and automatic yarn carriers, it supports intarsia, inverse plating and inlay knitting, offering greater versatility across apparel, sportswear, interior textiles and industrial applications.

The company will also celebrate 30 years of WHOLEGARMENT technology, first introduced at ITMA 1995. At Singapore Expo, Shima Seiki will unveil the SWG-XR WHOLEGARMENT machine as the ‘Reborn’ successor to the original SWG-X. With four needle beds and the proprietary SlideNeedle system, the SWG-XR produces fine gauge knitted garments with higher productivity and a broader range of patterning. The model to be exhibited in Singapore will be shown in 18L configuration with 15-gauge needles mounted at 18-gauge pitch. Compared to the previous MACH2XS flagship, SWG-XR achieves 25% higher output.

Alongside machine innovations, Shima Seiki will highlight its digital ecosystem. The subscription-based APEXFiz design software will be presented, supported by Shima Seiki Online Services, a platform designed to enhance digital workflows and promote more sustainable production models. The company will also showcase SDS KnitPaint-Online, a standalone version of its established KnitPaint system, now available as an accessible web-based tool for knit programming.

More than 140 samples will be exhibited, demonstrating integrated solutions that combine machinery and software to meet current and future needs of the global textile industry. The company’s focus on efficiency, flexibility and sustainability reinforces its position as a leading provider of flat knitting technology.

ITMA Asia + CITME 2025 will run from 28–31 October at Singapore Expo. Shima Seiki will exhibit in Hall 5, Stand C301, with a booth space of 200 square metres.

Founded in 1962, Shima Seiki has grown into a world leader in computerised flat knitting machinery and is the pioneer of WHOLEGARMENT technology, which enables complete garment production without sewing. With more than 2,900 patents and over three decades of expertise, the company continues to drive innovation across apparel, sportswear, interiors and industrial textiles, while expanding digital solutions that promote more sustainable and efficient production.
