Leading computerized knitting machine manufacturer Shima Seiki MFG., of Wakayama, together with its Hong Kong subsidiary Shima Seiki (Hong Kong), will participate in the 27^th session of Spinexpo, the leading exhibition for yarns, fabrics and knitwear fashion that takes place in Shanghai, China, this March.

The company will be displaying a knitting machine for the first time at Spinexpo. On display will be the flagship MACH2XS Wholegarment knitting machine, featuring Shima Seiki’s original SlideNeedle on four needle beds and spring-loaded moveable sinkers.

MACH2XS is said to offer higher efficiency and greater stability with expanded patterning capability while knitting Wholegarment items, and should provide an interesting technological dimension to the yarn and fabrics show with its capability to produce complete knitwear right on the machine without sewing or linking, the company reports.

3D design system

Also on display will be the latest version of Shima Seiki’s SDS-ONE APEX3 3D design system. APEX3 is at the core of Shima Seiki’s Total Fashion System concept, made possible due to its support of the knit apparel production process from planning and production to sales promotion, as well as its capability for Virtual Sampling.

Ultra-realistic simulation capability is said to allow Virtual Sampling to minimize the costly time- and resource-consuming sample-making process. APEX3 also supports design and simulation in a variety of other industries such as circular knitting, weaving, pile weaving and printing.

Also on display will be the latest collection of knit samples, including seam-free Wholegarment knitwear that features superior fit, comfort and draping characteristics.
