The Lycra Company, a global leader in sustainable fibre and technology solutions for the apparel industry, will continue its partnership with MarediModa 2025, the leading European trade show for beachwear, lingerie, and athleisure fabrics, taking place in Cannes from 22–24 October.

At this year’s event, The Lycra Company will present a range of garments made with its new renewable Lycra EcoMade fibre, partially derived from plant-based materials. The display in the Lycra Brand Lounge includes nine pieces of Arena swimwear and five athleisure garments from Carvico. The fibre offers the same performance as traditional Lycra fibre while helping to lower the environmental footprint of apparel production. As a one-to-one replacement, it requires no changes to existing fabric structures, manufacturing processes, or patterns.

A key highlight of the show will be a Fireside Chat entitled From Fibre to Sustainable Swimwear: A Blueprint for Collaboration, held on 22 October at 3:00 p.m. in the MarediModa conference space. Representatives from The Lycra Company, Carvico, and Arena will explore how industry collaboration is driving the development of sustainable fashion.

Members of the media are invited to a press conference and coffee break immediately following the discussion in the Lycra Brand Lounge. The space will feature an LED wall showcasing the brand’s new ALL IN positioning and product films, along with an exhibit detailing the renewable ingredients that make up the innovative fibre.

“True innovation in sustainable fashion doesn’t happen in isolation — it’s built through collaboration,” said Alistair Williamson, vice president EMEA & South Asia at The Lycra Company. “Our partnership with Arena and Carvico demonstrates how shared values and aligned goals can accelerate the adoption of responsible solutions. At MarediModa, we’re proud to showcase what’s possible when brands, mills, and fibre innovators come together to help advance a more sustainable future for apparel.”
