Penn Textile Solutions, a leading German textile mill specialising in warp and weft knits, and Invista, owner of the Lycra brand are taking another step forward in their decades-long partnership, developing innovative fabrics and putting their focus on consumer needs. The latest innovations from the partners will be on show at Interfilière, which takes place in Paris from 8-10 July 2017.

“Now more than ever, consumers are demanding comfortable, easy care apparel with real performance benefits. We believe offering these benefits, and harnessing the power of Lycra brand equity through co-branding are an important way to differentiate your products and drive sales,” explains Thomas Siemensmeyer, CEO of Penn Textile Solutions.

“We specialise in creating fabrics for lingerie and athleisure that offer cutting-edge innovations, discreet support, timeless elegance, and lasting performance, that’s why we prefer Lycra fibre.”

Dreamshape secrets

The latest innovations Penn will launch at Interfilière include a range of new fabrics which correspond both to consumer needs and the latest consumer oriented concepts of Invista.

The Dreamshape series includes the new series Dreamshape secrets made with Lycra Beauty fibre for Lycra Beauty branding. The main characteristics of this fabric are an appealing leaf design, a super soft peach skin touch and an invisible tummy flattening power zone for targeted shaping which has a 3.5 times more higher power than at the side. This fabric offers possibility for open cut seams without bonding or lining free and easy cut without laddering.

The range of Powerlace fabrics offered by Penn Textile Solutions will include a new generation of Powerlace. These high performance Powerlaces made with Lycra Beauty fibre for Lycra Beauty branding, show a mat appearance and a soft touch thanks to the use of a special soft yarn. Additionally, two new Powerlaces with new designs are made of Micro Modal/cotton and Lycra Beauty fibre following the consumer needs of natural comfort.

Penn’s gripper series includes two new patterned fabrics showing an all-over gripper construction on the backside of the fabric. This makes the fabric suitable for designs with customised placed ‘anti-slip’ parts. In comparison to common silicon gripper this special fabric construction made with Lycra fibre is durable thanks to the gripper integration into the knitting construction, offering good adhesion and breathability which helps prevent irritation to the skin that are typical of traditional gripper bands.

Lycra Soft Comfort technology was used in Penn’s latest double jersey spacer fabric, which offers more comfort thanks to the higher elongation with low hysteresis of Lycra T902C fibre.

Penn Textile Solutions will also present an innovative circular knit fabric with enhanced recovery power, 360 degree stretch, a soft hand and a unique appearance at Interfilière in Paris. Thanks to Lycra Beauty fibre this fabric is suitable for shaping garments branded with Lycra Beauty brand.

“Penn Textile Solution’s latest developments underline again their innovation driven and clear marketed oriented focus on their main customer target groups – the lingerie/intimate apparel and the athleisure manufacturers. State-of the art, high performance driven textiles made with Lycra fibres or other specialty fibres of Invista are the key drivers of the fashion market today and tomorrow. Invista’s and Penn’s vision coincide and this is one of the reasons for the long partnership,” says Christine Wahle, Marketing Account Manager at Invista Deutschland.

Penn Textile Solutions is an internationally-minded company with the expertise to develop and produce innovative textiles for its wide variety of customers.
