It’s clear to everyone now that future of fashion – and many other sectors – must be based on sustainability. Since the crisis caused by the pandemic consumers are increasingly on the lookout for superior quality, long-lasting garments that are above all traceable and produced using sustainable methods.

That’s why more and more brands are placing an increased emphasis on making their collections – or at least a part of them - more sustainable. One of these is There Was One, one of the latest brands created by the New Guards Group, and Farfetch, the leading digital platform in the luxury sector. Developed on the basis of observing consumer behaviour during pandemic, the There Was One brand targets consumers seeking long-lasting wardrobe essentials that are not simply fashionable for a season. Most of all, their production should take sustainability and durability into account.

As a result, the brand has decided to turn to Fulgar for the launch of a scuba Jersey capsule made using Fulgar’s Q-Nova fibre, obtained exclusively from regenerated raw materials. It’s an easy-to-wear collection with a touch of glam, comprising a pair of ripped leggings and a long-sleeved midi dress and a top, both with square neck. They are go-everywhere items, strictly black, for a striking mix and match, perfect for wear anytime, anywhere, from the office to a weekend away, but also for a prestigious evening event. And most important of all, they have a green heart.

“We’re very happy to work with There Was One in their development of increasingly sustainable collections, thanks to the potential of our ecological and functional yarns. It’s an important acknowledgement of our now well-established commitment to eco-sustainable research and development aiming for an ethical, increasingly circular supply chain”, says Daniela Antunes, Marketing Manager at Fulgar.

“There Was One selects the best fibres and ecological treatment to create a collection that is both sustainable and contemporary. For this reason, we are pleased that for this capsule we have used Q-Nova yarn, which has shown how it is possible to create quality products while remaining aware of the problems of environmental impact and seeking solutions to them”, said Benedetta Quaratesi, Brand Manager of There Was One.

The There Was One capsule with Q-Nova is on sale exclusively at farfetch.com.
