Monforts, together with partners Archroma and BW Converting, is redefining resource-efficient textile processing with major advances in fabric finishing - and now dyeing.

During a recent webinar hosted by Germany’s VDMA Textile Machinery Association, the three companies presented their latest developments in energy-saving technologies designed to reduce environmental impact while improving performance and productivity.

A central focus was BW Converting’s Baldwin TexCoat G4 precision spray system, which, when combined with Archroma’s advanced finishing formulations and Monforts’ MONTEX stenters and Monfortex shrinking ranges, delivers sustainable, high-quality results with drastically reduced water and energy consumption.

Michael Schuhmann, Global Marketing Finishing at Archroma Textile Effects, explained that traditional padding and exhaust techniques consume large volumes of water and require intensive drying. Spray application, by contrast, reduces liquid ‘pick up’ significantly, enabling faster drying and production speeds of up to 100 metres per minute.

“As global fashion brands commit to lowering emissions, the textile industry must embrace safer chemistries and resource-saving processes such as spray application,” Schuhmann said.

Rick Stanford, Vice President of Global Business Development for Textiles at BW Converting, highlighted the precision control of Baldwin’s spray technology, derived from offset printing systems refined through over 40,000 global installations. More than 100 TexCoat G4 units are now operating worldwide, including 30 in Pakistan, where mills have achieved higher speeds and lower energy use.

Monforts Engineer Saskia Kuhlen noted that a TexCoat G4 unit is now installed at the company’s Advanced Technology Center (ATC), alongside energy-saving systems such as the TwinAir, TwinTherm and CADstreamE variable nozzle technologies, as well as the EcoBooster and Energy Tower modules for heat recovery.

The partnership is now extending its focus to dyeing, with the introduction of the Baldwin TexChroma spray dyeing system, to be showcased with Monforts’ Thermex continuous dyeing ranges at ITMA Asia + CITME in Singapore from 28–31 October.

“We are excited to introduce the Baldwin TexChroma because spray dyeing is the future,” said Stanford. “We will also install a TexChroma unit on a Thermex line at the Monforts ATC in 2026.”

Monforts will exhibit at stand A301 in Hall 3, and BW Converting at stand B201 in Hall 8 at ITMA Asia + CITME.
