The 8th Annual Public Conference of the European Technology Platform

Brussels, 20-21 March 2013

The European Technology Platform for the Future of Textiles and Clothing will organise its 8th Annual Public Conference on 20-21 March 2013 in Brussels. The scope of this one-and-a-half-day event will be to present and discuss the future direction of textile research and innovation in Europe and how it could tie in with the upcoming EU HORIZON 2020 Programme.

Organisers say the conference will include presentations of some fascinating foresight studies from France and Germany, demonstrating how advanced textile materials and solutions will play an increasingly crucial role in addressing key societal challenges such as health, food, energy, transport, future living environments and security.

The 7 Textile Flagships for Europe initiatives, launched in late 2012, will outline how some of these great opportunities for the sector and its research community can be tackled through collaborative projects and public support in the coming years.

EU high-level speakers will update on the latest developments in HORIZON 2020 preparation and the leadership of the ETP will describe the important changes that have been made in recent months to re-launch the Technology Platform as a stronger and more focused organization.

The event will take place at Husa President Park Hotel in Brussels. The draft programme as well as the conference registration documents are available on www.textile-platform.eu
