Brooks Brothers partners with AWI to spread the word on Saxxon Wool

Distinguished American clothing retailer Brooks Brothers is partnering with Australian Wool Innovation (AWI) to tell the world about the virtues of Saxxon® wool. Distinguished American clothing retailer Brooks Brothers is partnering with Australian Wool Innovation (AWI) to tell the world about the virtues of Saxxon® wool. To share the company’s passion for this unique fibre, it is creating a film about the people, the animal, and the processes that go into making the world’s highest quality natural fibre. The film will be shown to both sales staff and customers to fully illustrate the quality of the wool and the resulting excellence of the products containing pure Saxon fibre from Saxon sheep.

For a week in early May, AWI escorted a team from Brooks Brothers across Victoria and Tasmania, visiting properties breeding pure Saxon sheep. They also interviewed key figures within the industry, including historian Charles Massey, a foremost authority on the history of Saxon sheep, the pure line of which can be traced back to Spain in the 13th century.

Due to its three-dimensional helical crimp, Saxon fibre is wonderfully lightweight and extraordinarily soft, with natural stretch and unique resilience. Using a fine grade of Saxon yarn, Brooks Brothers has created a line of men's and women's knitwear and tailored clothing with plans to expand its Saxxon offerings extensively in the near future.
