For the next session, which will take place from 19th to 22nd February 2008 at the Parc d’Expositions de Paris-Nord Villepinte, Expofil maintains its position as an international exhibition with a multi-product offering in tune with the market.

During recent editions, the Expofil strategy has adapted to the development of the yarns and fibres sector. Through this very balanced offering in terms of nationality (16 this session), the exhibition resembles a trade which is highly globalised and which now reaches across every continent. An internationalisation that is also noticeable at visitor level, as the results from the September 2007 session have shown with a very high percentage of international visitors (73%), of which 36 % come from countries outside the European Union. In terms of expertise, Expofil upholds its positioning as a wide ranging exhibition by selecting exhibitors who offer high-quality technical or creative collections aimed at the entire fashion textile industry.

To date, 46 spinners and fibre producers are registered for the next edition, which is comparable to the figures for the February and September 2007 sessions. The exhibition welcomes 4 new exhibitors with varied activities:

AGAV (Italy): a specialist in elastic yarn, which includes among its clients some of the biggest names in lingerie, clothing, and footwear as well as in health (medical, Orthopaedic). Offering a large range of covered yarns made from rubber and elastomeric fibres.

AKFIL TEKSTIL (Turkey): this Turkish cotton spinner offers 100% cotton and cotton blend dyed yarns, organic cotton yarns, yarns made from bamboo, viscose, modal, linen. Its main markets are circular knitting and weaving.

BIRLA INTERNATIONAL (India): the world leader in cellulose fibres with an annual production of 566,000 tonnes. The brands Birla Viscose, Birla Modal and Birla Excel are used in circular and flat-bed knitting, weaving for apparel and furnishing, hosiery as well as in technical textiles and non-wovens.

RUBIA PIGMENTA NATURALIA (Netherlands): producer of 100% natural, pure dyes made from madder, which includes the whole range of colour from pink and orange to red and brown.

The product offering presented in the spinners’ collections strives to anticipate the concerns of the end consumer. The natural and the organic already shown in previous collections continue to expand with yarns using organic cotton and wool, soya, maize, bamboo, algae, paper or lactic casein, as well as recycled or reclaimed fibres. For their part, blends with elastomeric fibres join in the pursuit for comfort. The various properties of fibres – anti-static, anti-UV, anti-bacterial, to mention but a few – are sought after for the real added value and performance they bring to clothes.

This season, the exhibition forum is designed by Valérie Olivier as a space full of flavour and sweetness. A place of treats, to give buyers an unlimited appetite for the discovery of yarns and materials of Expofil exhibitors.

A sweetened space to lose oneself in the delights of the preview of Autumn/Winter 09-10. A path to enjoy the last creations for Spring/Summer 09. And a soft spot to delight in the developments in new materials. The yarns/fabrics cooperation continues in the Pulsation forum in Hall 5, where a specific location with a technology theme will join together the innovations from fibre producers, spinners and weavers.More.
