Abstract of WO2008004345

A knitting fabric and a knitting method for it which do not give an oppressive feeling when the fabric is worn, and can leave no marks after it is put off, and a knitting machine. Yarn tension increasing areas (7a), yarn tension decreasing areas (7b) and boundaries (7c) between these areas are provided in a mouth rubber portion (7). Each boundary (7c) is so partitioned that knitting yarns (21) do not move beyond the boundary (7c). Knitting yarns (21) belonging each area are not pulled out to an adjoining area where yarn tension is strong, or do not pull in knitting yarns (21) in an adjoining area where yarn tension is weak. Since yarn tension decreasing areas (7b) tend to stretch when the fabric is worn, the fabric does not give an oppressive feeling when it is worn and can leave no marks after it is put off. Since yarn tension increasing areas (7a) give not weak yarn tension, the fabric can enhance a fitting feeling when it is worn. When an arch of foot portion (4) or a constricted portion (6) behind an ankle is knitted with yarn tension strengthened, a high fitting feature can be imparted.
