The annual Legwear Innovation Day hosted by The Lycra Company, and its distributor Fulgar, presented product innovations and legwear trends for 2024/2025, at Fulgar’s production headquarters in Castel Goffredo, Italy, on 19 October. The event was deemed a success by the hosts and its guests.

The show attracted over 130 legwear producers, mostly from the Mantua region. For over ten years the Lycra Company, in collaboration with Fulgar, its long-standing partner and sector leader in Italy and the rest of Europe, has organised the event for operators in one of Italy’s most well-established and successful industries.

The 2023 edition was more immersive and fashion-forward than ever. The programme of contributions concerning technological innovations was complemented by spectacular presentations focussing on the new collection of legwear concept garments developed by the Lycra brand’s laboratories.

Simone Medici, Senior Strategic Account Manager Brand & Retail of the Lycra Company opened proceedings and welcomed guests. Alberto Ceria, the Lycra Company’s head of Research and Development for hosiery and sustainability then presented the Lycra company’s latest innovation for the legwear world - LycraSheer Sensation technology.

Daniela Antunes – Head of Marketing for Fulgar – illustrated the new anti-static polyamide by Fulgar designed for latest-generation tights and stockings. The session dedicated to new fashion and legwear trends was organised by Elisa Bonandini, a style and trend expert and image consultant. Through an overview of international fashion macro-trends, she revealed the key trends in the legwear world’s 24/25 season.

A show featuring four theme-based performances provided interludes of entertainment and spectacle in Elisa Bonandini’s presentation. In fact, the prestigious Amsterdam Stijlinstituut has identified four key hosiery trends for 24/25 for the Lycra Company - Leg Gear, Evolutionary, Self Care and Extraordinary. These trends have inspired the creation of the Lycra Company’s concept collection made using the most advanced technological solutions by the Lycra brand.

Davide Rossi – The Lycra Company’s Head of Technical Assistance for Legwear illustrated the technical element of the concept garments created with Lycra fibre’s cutting-edge yarn technologies.

Simone Medici, Senior Strategic Account Manager Brand & Retail for the Lycra Company commented: “As is usual every year, the encounter with Fulgar, our official distributor for the Italian hosiery district, is extremely strategic and a high priority for us. Always intensely aware of new developments and technological improvements in the sector, the Lycra Company works constantly to create innovative products, highlighting its links with the Italian hosiery district. The new LycraSheer Sensation offer is a clear result of the active collaboration with the prestigious Amsterdam institute in producing the annual overview of fashion trends for the benefit of partner companies in the sector.”

Daniela Antunes, Head of Marketing for Fulgar, added: “We’re excited to stand once again beside the Lycra Company during this key event organised for the Italian legwear industry. It’s not only an opportunity to meet and compare notes with the major players in the sector, where we have developed a collaboration with our partner, which owns the Lycra brand, but also a chance to describe Fulgar’s latest developments, like its new anti-static polyamide.”
