MAS Holdings, a global leader in textiles and apparel manufacturing, has received the prestigious Clarivate South Asia Innovation Award, for the third consecutive year. The award was presented at the Innovation Forum held in Mumbai, India, by Clarivate, a renowned global intelligence company recognising organisations that consistently excel in innovation.

The selection process for the South Asia Innovation Awards closely parallels the methodology of Clarivate's Top 100 Global Innovators, a benchmark for identifying worldwide innovation leaders. Clarivate evaluates both patent volume and the strength of each patented idea's innovation potential, relying on data from the Derwent World Patents Index (DWPI) and the Derwent Patents Citation Index.

Ranil Vitarana, the Chief Innovation Officer of MAS Holdings commented: "Receiving the South Asia Innovation Award from Clarivate once again fills us with tremendous enthusiasm. This recurring achievement stands as a testament to MAS’ unwavering commitment to delivering ground-breaking innovations and maintaining a portfolio of high-quality intellectual property. Our dedication to innovation not only drives differentiation but also contributes to the success of our valued customers."

Receiving the South Asia Innovation Award under the Corporate category has reinforced MAS’ IP portfolio, strengthening its position as a leading innovator in the region. Central to MAS’ innovation journey is its innovation arm, Twinery, dedicated to accelerating the development and adoption of smart textile technologies. By cultivating a global community of scientists, engineers, designers, and entrepreneurs, Twinery collectively addresses challenges within the fashion industry.

Two notable product verticals, Femography and Softmatter, exemplify MAS’ dedication to pushing the boundaries of apparel and textiles. Softmatter has revolutionised wearable technology, enhancing user experiences through washable sensors, haptics, lighting, and more.

Meanwhile, Femography, has redefined female health and hygiene solutions by developing advanced, washable, reusable and more sustainable FemTech products.

Twinery, as an award-winning innovation catalyst with an impressive portfolio of 66 granted patents, fosters a culture of innovation that empowers MAS to create significant impact in unexplored areas, referred to as White Spaces. The culture of innovation recently earned Twinery the Fast Company Award, ranking 18th among the best workplaces for innovators worldwide.

As Twinery strives to expedite the advancement of novel technologies and solutions, contributing to a more sustainable and empowered fashion ecosystem, MAS’ pivotal role in differentiation and market growth is attested to by the recurring recognition it has earned over the years.
