Circular knitting machine builder Terrot GmbH has reported positive results from the Tuyap exhibition held earlier this month in Istanbul

Terrot participated in the TÜYAP exhibition because of the importance of the Turkish market for textile machinery suppliers and because of Istanbul’s proximity to customers in neighbouring countries as Iran, Russia, Ukraine, Syria and others. The Chemnitz based company showed four circular knitting machines which met the interest of visitors, who were mostly mill managers and owners and who discussed in detail, investments for 2008 and later.

S296-1 Open width, single jersey high production with a new compact open width frame

The backbone of the Turkish knitting industry is still the single knit open width market for which Terrot designed a very simple to handle new machine was delivered directly from the fair to a well known knitting mill with a long tradition in this business. As early as 1999 in Paris, Terrot was the first company to introduce a single jersey circular knitting machine where tubular fabric was cut and wound-up in open form directly on the machine.

S6F348-Single jersey 6-colour striper machine

The new 6-colour striper S6F348 was shown to customers with the special Terrot speed-up function, which increases the output of striped fabrics by up to 20 % when the design uses the same colours over more than two revolutions. Terrot invented the striper technology for circular knitting machines in 1950.

UCC548T-Electronically controlled jacquard double-jersey machine with transfer technique

With the UCC548T very low weight fabrics with transfer designs for lingerie can be produced. These fabrics are in demand by high fashion producers because of the special optical surface of the fabrics with holes in unlimited designs. This transfer machine is well proven over many years and it is available up to 18gg in 30 and 34 inch diameters

The UCC548T is equipped with transfer needles in the cylinder with lateral springs. Two knitting feeders are followed by one transfer feeder where the cylinder needles are individually selected to transfer the stitches from the cylinder into the dial needle. The UCC548T can knit rib fabrics with delayed timing or jacquard in synchronized timing. Transfer-Rib and transfer-Jacquard are possible with elastane. The UCC548T meets the requirement in the market for flexible and productive full jacquard transfer machines in real 3-way technique.

UCC572M-Electronically controlled jacquard double-jersey machine

The UCC572M is the most productive knitting machine for the production of mattress tickings and this machine was the centre of attention amongst visitors because these fabrics are enjoying strong growth in the market in recent years. According to Terrot, with its new 90 feeders, this UCC572M will be in a class by itself with a productivity increase of 50% and nearly 30 kg/h production output. A Terrot spokesperson told Knitting Industry: “The 3-way technique on all 90 feeders permits knitting for numerous applications such as mesh, spacer, and blister. The versatility of this UCC572 is unmatched in the market place.”

Terrot circular knitting machines have been supplied to Turkey since around 1920 and over 10,000 Terrot machines are said to be in the market. Terrot expects that Turkey will remain a strong supplier of textiles to the world market because of quality, efficiency and the quality of Turkish management.
