Santoni to offer comprehensive knitting solutions in Shanghai

"The metal floor shines with the glory of science and technology, and the roar of the machine shows the surge of industrial age. Under the simple appearance, the distinctive circular knitting technology is trying to bring new concepts and ideas to fairly mature textile industry of China." These are the words that the Santoni Group uses to describe its booth and high-tech machinery offer at the forthcoming ITMA Asia 2012, which will be held in Shanghai from 12-16 June. The

These are the words that the Santoni Group uses to describe its booth and high-tech machinery offer at the forthcoming ITMA Asia 2012, which will be held in Shanghai from 12-16 June. The Italian company will jointly present a wide range of knitting technology solutions together with socks and hosiery machinery sister company Lonati and software and electronics company Dinema.

Five themes, involving a total of 31 machines, will be presented, which include seamless knitting machines, large diameter machines, circular machines for outwear, socks machines and machine software. And, in true Santoni style several thought provoking garment collections will also be on show.

Seamless machines

In the Seamless themed area, three machine types will be on show. The first type will be a circular seamless machine for the production of underwear, home wear and sportswear. The second will be Santoni's now well known warp knitting machine, featuring a number of exclusive or patented innovations, such as precise linear motors. Finally, Santoni will show its finishing-pressing technology.

"In this area, there is one machine which you should not miss. This is the Top2 E40. Santoni's Top2 machine has an excellent record in seamless underwear production. Now it is refined to knit the finest gauge yarns in 40E," says Santoni's Patrick Silva.

"This fine gauge machine represents a technological breakthrough for a new dimension of seamless garment. The surface of the garment is smoother and lighter offering an incomparable feeling of comfort like a second skin."

Circular machines for outerwear

According to Santoni, circular knitwear production has always been considered as a necessary complement to flat -bed knitting and a well-equipped knitting factory should have both types, especially because the circular system has an incomparably huge productivity in the finer gauges.

Mec-Mor CompactIn the outerwear themed area Santoni will present the new Mec-mor Compact machine for the first time in China. Mec-mor machines are well known as garment-length machine that knit garment-lengths panels in open-width on 300 degrees of the machine cylinder.

Mec-mor has now been restyled into a new physically, smaller model, called the Mec-mor CMP.

"The machine features most of the advantages of the larger model, but with several new features including the enhancement of the production by having the integral feeds no longer divided into those in knit stitch and transfer stitch feeds. Instead, each feed is completely ‘integral' and perform in either way according to the required selection. This machine achieves remarkably high productivity with fine quality of fabric, especially in the finer gauges," Patrick Silva explains.

Large diameter machines

In Shanghai Santoni will also show several products from its Santoni large diameter machine line, including the Zenit, Atlas, Pulsar and Orion models.

Patrick Silva enthuses about the company's new superfine Atlas model:

"Amongst these product lines, the visitor should focus his attention on Atlas because of its remarkable, superfine gauge. Its diversely patented system of combining a sinker-less knitting operation and a special ‘holding Jack' with other cylinder design developments enables Atlas to produce , ultra fine gauge, single jersey fabric at the unprecedented gauges of E80 and E90."

"Furthermore Atlas technology, with its reduced friction between the parts, features a distinct reduction in energy consumption." Sample garments and fabrics  "Know-how has always been the idea and belief of Santoni. Santoni hopes to share their technology and the way to make best use of it with their customers. Therefore in this exhibition, Santoni is going to show hundreds of newly designed garments, including several types of sportswear, sweater and cardigan, ladies dress and fabric of different gauge," Patrick Silva says.

"You will find that the old myth about seamless being only associated with synthetic yarns has been undoubtedly quashed by Santoni seamless circular technology successfully using all types of yarn- both natural and man-made."
