At the next session, which takes place from 23rd to 26th September 2008 at the Parc d’Expositions, Paris-Nord Villepinte, Expofil aims to prove once again the strength of its concept.

In an industry which has been affected by a slowing down in textile consumption, along with problems linked to the abolition of quotas and the unfavourable dollar exchange rate, the exhibition for spinners and fibre producers maintains its position and endeavours to meet the current and emerging demands of its customers and the market.

In order to do this, the exhibition continues to favour high quality products and to promote innovation and performance, both in materials and treatments. Fifty spinners and fibre producers are registered so far for the next edition, which is consistent with the two previous sessions. The exhibition also welcomes 4 new exhibitors with varied specialities:

Karsu Tekstil (Turkey): A leading global spinner of Modal, to which it has exclusive rights in Turkey, and a favoured partner of Lenzing. In September, the two companies will launch a new fibre developed in collaboration. This company produces 15,000 tonnes of yarn per year made from various fibres (cotton, viscose, linen, wool, bamboo, soya, Tencel) using ring, open-end and air-jet techniques.

Hebei Jigao Chemical Fiber (China): Very focused on ecology and sustainable development, this company transforms vegetable materials (bamboo, cotton, hemp, linen), which it markets in the form of pulp and fibre. The main markets are clothing and household textiles. At Expofil, the company will present in particular its bamboo fibre, Tanboocel.

Kantex (Taiwan): A producer of fancy yarns (bouclé, knop, slub, etc.) aimed at yarns for the flat bed knitting market.

Murata Machinery (Japan): This Japanese machine manufacturer presents its Vortex air-jet spinning process, used for all fibres (cotton but also synthetic and regenerated fibres, etc.). The yarns roduced with this technique are, among other things, very resistant to pilling, abrasion and washing.

We also see the return of Fil Man Made, a large Italian company specialising in performance yarns, and of the French company Filatures du Parc, which will display a collection focused on sustainable development using yarns made from regenerated material.

Designed this season by Luc Jimenez, the forum unites the natural and the artificial, the imaginary and the scientific, reality and graphic interpretation to enter the world of tomorrow, the Spring/Summer 2010 season. Vividly-coloured, cut-out shapes evoke the magic of nature, with trees, animals and insects, contrasting with more industrial and urban structures. There you will find the offering from Expofil exhibitors, in response to information on yarns sent at the beginning of the season, including a preview of Spring/Summer 2010, an item on technological advances and new materials, as well as an updated selection for Autumn/Winter 2009/10.

The yarns/fabrics cooperation continues in the "Pulsation" forum in hall 5, where a technology theme will unite innovations from fibre producers, spinners and fabrics manufacturers in one place.
