Eurojersey has reinforced its commitment to responsible production with the release of its fifth Footprint Report, outlining progress in sustainability across its Sensitive Fabrics range. These fabrics, widely used in sportswear, fashion, underwear and swimwear, are produced through the SensitivEcoSystem programme, which the company has implemented since 2007 to reduce environmental impact.

The strategy integrates environmental, social and governance principles, aligning with the UN Global Compact and the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Initiatives include cutting emissions, efficient use of resources, safer chemical management, employee welfare, and education partnerships. Eurojersey also aims to implement a circular economy model by 2030, recovering industrial and pre-consumer waste.

Results from 2024 highlight significant progress: packaging waste reductions saving 9,000 FSC-certified cardboard tubes, water consumption lowered from 507 l/kg in 2023 to 280 l/kg in 2024, and renewable energy production exceeding 541,897 kWh. The company also cut methane gas usage by 25,000 cubic metres and increased the use of recycled nylon fibres in Sensitive Fabrics.

Eurojersey is a founding member of the Retex Green Consortium, which works to optimise textile waste management across the sector. It has also become the first Italian textile company to achieve the Made Green in Italy certification, recognising the environmental performance of its Sensitive Fabrics under the EU Product Environmental Footprint method.

Andrea Crespi, General Manager of Eurojersey, said: “Only through a systemic approach is it possible to generate lasting impacts and redistribute value fairly and sustainably along the entire textile-apparel value chain.”
