Los Angeles sustainable luxury lifestyle brand Losano’s latest six-piece knitwear collection is being produced on-demand by New York-based Tailored Industry.

Tailored Industry provides a stripped-down, just-in-time production service to third party brands based on Shima Seiki’s Wholegarment seamless knitting machines and a software platform that both streamlines sample development and automates the brand’s procurement process.

“We are excited to be at the forefront of sustainability by offering beautifully designed and great fitting products on-demand,” said Losano’s COO Malinda Behrens. “The focus is on the rich colours, quality yarns, impeccable construction and attention to detail that in the past has been associated with slow fashion and is now anything but that.

“On-demand garments still represent a single-digit share of what’s being sold in the USA and don’t have the visibility in the supply chain yet, and Losano is working in a very crowded space, but we’re very excited to be partnering with Tailored Industry because holding no inventory and eliminating significant amounts of waste without in any way sacrificing quality is a conversation we need to be having in the luxury garment space.”

The new Losano collection is based on blends of Lenzing’s Modal viscose fibres and organic cotton. It consists of the Indio Rib Dress which retails at $249, the Madera Rib Cardigan ($249), Brentwood Rib Bra Top ($99), Covino Rib Biker Short ($148), Laguna Long Sleeve Top ($199) and Paramount Pant ($228), offered in black, garnet and heather grey, in sizes small through to extra large.
