Fulgar has launched an ‘edutainment’ project designed to reshape public understanding of polyamide and its role in a more responsible textile supply chain. The series, titled Tracing the Fashion of the Future, has been developed in collaboration with WRÅD, the creative consultancy founded by responsible-fashion advocate Matteo Ward. Comprising four short video episodes, the initiative aims to engage both industry professionals and consumers with accessible, entertaining content on sustainable raw materials.

Using a pop-influenced visual style and clear language, the series highlights how research and new technologies are transforming polyamide from a material often perceived as environmentally harmful into one capable of supporting transparency, circularity and innovation. The first episode, Beyond the Material: The Real Challenge of Sustainability, shifts attention from individual fibre choices to the wider systems needed to support responsible production. It encourages viewers to consider how innovation, resource management and social and environmental impacts must all be integrated—a principle that has guided Fulgar’s work for more than a decade.

Further episodes, set for release through late November to January, will spotlight Fulgar’s portfolio of lower-impact yarns. These include Q-Nova, made from regenerated raw materials; Evo, a 100% bio-based polyamide derived from renewable sources such as castor beans and industrial corn; and Q-Cycle, produced using pyrolysis oil recovered from end-of-life tyres. Each example illustrates how recycled and bio-based inputs can reduce reliance on fossil resources while maintaining the performance expected by brands and consumers.

Daniela Antunes, Marketing Manager at Fulgar, emphasises the importance of education in accelerating change, noting that an informed consumer is essential for driving the transition towards responsible fashion. Alice Fortuna, Director of Communication at WRÅD, adds that Fulgar has long demonstrated leadership in material innovation, highlighting that true sustainability lies not in individual choices but in redefining the overall role and impact of textile products.

Founded in the late 1970s in Castel Goffredo in the heart of Italy’s hosiery district, Fulgar has grown into a global leader in man-made fibres, supplying nylon 6.6 and covered elastomers to sectors ranging from hosiery and lingerie to swimwear, sportswear and circular knitwear. Over the past decade, the company has expanded its investments in research and development, with a particular focus on materials produced from recycled or renewable sources, including Q-Nova, Evo, Q-Cycle and the bio-based yarn Q-Geo. Fulgar is also the exclusive distributor in Europe and Turkey for Lycra Fibre, Lycra T400 and Elaspan, and collaborates with the Solvay Group in the production of Emana and Amni Soul Eco.

The new video series reinforces the company’s long-standing commitment to innovation and sustainability, offering a fresh platform for dialogue on the future of textile materials.
