Functional Fabric Fair, powered by Performance Days, has announced an expanded educational programme for its Fall 2025 edition, to be held from 11–13 November at the Oregon Convention Center in Portland. The enhanced schedule introduces a new Day 0 Sustainability Workshop and a broader series of Expert Talks, focusing on circularity, supply chain transparency and textile-to-textile recycling.
The event will begin on 11 November with the Day 0 Sustainability Workshop, sponsored by Hyosung. The full day paid conference, open to both exhibitors and professional attendees, will take place at the Hyatt Regency Downtown Portland. Curated by Jill Dumain of Fractal CSOs, Todd Copeland of Copeland Consultancy, and Kevin Myette of bluesign technologies, the workshop will feature sessions on scaling new technologies, decarbonisation, circularity, forced labour risks and evolving global regulations.
The 2025 edition will also spotlight Textile-to-Textile (T2T) Recycling – The Role of Recyclers, exploring how new systems are enabling garments to be remade from existing materials. With Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) policies gaining traction, Europe’s advances in sorting, digital passports and recycling are expected to be key discussion points.
The exhibition hall will open from 12–13 November and feature the free Expert Talks series, sponsored by CovationBio Sorona. More than 15 sessions will cover topics including bio-based materials, supply chain collaboration, human rights, tariffs and emerging trends. Highlights include Nora Kuehner’s Performance Colours update, a dedicated recyclers panel, and sessions on human rights protection and trade policy.
“This edition’s expanded educational programming reflects the textile industry’s urgent need to address sustainability, circularity and compliance challenges head-on,” said Steve McCullough, Event Vice President of Functional Fabric Fair. “By bringing together leading experts and practitioners with all new programming, the event provides attendees with actionable insights and strategies to shape the future of performance textiles.”
Over 350 certified sustainable suppliers will exhibit fabrics, finishes, trims and accessories for the 2026/2027 autumn seasons. The trade-only event is free for verified industry professionals, while the Day 0 Workshop requires separate paid registration.
