At the forthcoming ITMA Asia + CITME textile machinery exhibition in Singapore this October, Monforts will introduce the new VertiDry, a vertical dryer for use in combination with coating machines, padders or Monforts EcoApplicator units in the special finishing of technical textiles.

The fully contactless and energy optimised convection dryer is intended for use with a stenter, either before or after it depending on the application, for essential pre-drying of sensitive fabrics and post-coating treatments of airbags, denim fabrics and glass-fibre substrates. Other applications include sportswear, outerwear, carpets, geotextiles and tarpaulins.

The VertiDry can be integrated into both new and existing finishing lines. A single unit accommodates approximately eight metres of fabric at any given time, with multi-storey versions also available, making it adaptable to different line configurations.

In terms of energy options, the unit can be powered by all available heating sources or combinations of them, depending on the most economic route for the mill. It also features an integrated exhaust air duct and can be connected to a heat recovery system such as the Monforts Energy Tower.

Different nozzle types are available and the system will be supplied pre-erected for shorter installation times.

“The new VertiDry has been designed in response to market demand for a space and energy saving vertical dryer to support CO2 reduction targets and integration into special processes, especially in the treatment of technical textiles,” said Monforts Marketing Manager Nicole Croonenbroek. “With its contactless drying it will help our customers produce a wide range of high-quality, added value fabrics efficiently and economically.”

Monforts will showcase the VertiDry at ITMA Asia + CITME on stand H3 A301.
