Shima Seiki has announced the release of a new article on its wearware digital fashion blog, highlighting the potential of its APEXFiz Design-Sox software to transform the sock industry.

The software, part of Shima Seiki’s APEXFiz subscription lineup, is designed specifically for sock design and aims to accelerate 3D virtual sampling in this category. The company says the tool offers “a real chance to say good-bye to physical samples altogether,” reducing time, cost and waste in the design process.

The article also highlights Shima Seiki’s collaboration with Italian sock knitting machine maker Lonati S.p.A., integrating Design-Sox with Lonati’s ORION programming software for optimised production.
