Teijin Frontier Co., Ltd., the Teijin Group's fibre-product converting company, announced today that it will showcase a range of functional sports fabrics at Performance Days, a show for functional sports and work wear fabrics, which will take place at the MTC World Of Fashion in Munich, Germany, on May 15 and 16.
Teijin Frontier stand 112 will exhibit at the trade fair for the first time to promote its expansion into the international functional sportswear market. The company will present the following key products developed for added comfort:
This knitted polyester fabric offers a combination of softness, durability and snag resistance, plus a number of other useful functions such as stretching, ultraviolet protection and anti-transparency. It also has outstanding wind-blocking properties due to its dense, flat knit surface.
This lightweight, thin, three-layer fabric made with water-repellent polyester fibres achieves total anti-perspiration comfort through enhanced absorption, quick drying and prevention of chills and stickiness.
This lightweight, high-performance material, both waterproof and breathable, features recycled polyester laminated with a thin but highly durable polyester film. Eco Storm is ideal for outdoor clothing, including shell jackets, sportswear and raingear.
This polyester fabric maintains its mildly acidic pH level even when the wearer is perspiring, satisfying needs for value-added clothing that is gentle to skin, prevents odours and resists bacteria and stains. It is a promising anti-bacterial, odour-prevention, metal-free material that eliminates the use of silver coats or any metal-based agent.
All materials mentioned above also are environmentally friendly because they can be recycled with Teijin's ECO CIRCLE, the company’s closed-loop recycling system that turns used polyester into new fibres that offer the purity and quality of petroleum-derived fibres.
Teijin is a technology-driven global group offering advanced solutions in the areas of sustainable transportation, information and electronics, safety and protection, environment and energy, and healthcare. Its main fields of operation are high-performance fibres such as aramid, carbon fibres and composites, healthcare, films, resin and plastic processing, polyester fibres, products converting and IT. The group has some 150 companies and around 17,000 employees spread out over 20 countries worldwide. It posted consolidated sales of JPY 854.4 billion (USD 9.1 billion) and total assets of JPY 762.1 billion (USD 8.1 billion) in the fiscal year ending March 31, 2012.
