The submission phase has begun for the Techtextil and Texprocess Innovation Awards 2026. Until 15 December 2025, companies, research institutes, universities and individuals can submit their latest developments for consideration. The winning innovations will be presented at Techtextil and Texprocess, taking place from 21 to 24 April 2026 in Frankfurt.
The awards recognise cutting-edge advances in technical textiles, nonwovens, and textile processing technologies. Areas of focus include digitalisation, artificial intelligence, sustainable approaches, and new production methods. According to Messe Frankfurt, the awards offer winners international visibility and an ideal platform to showcase their work to manufacturers, researchers, application experts and the media.
“Innovation is central to the future of the industry,” said Sabine Scharrer, Director Brand Management Technical Textiles & Textile Processing at Messe Frankfurt. “With the Techtextil and Texprocess Innovation Awards, we create a platform for visionary developments and provide a framework for them to reach the market.”
Categories for the Techtextil Innovation Award 2026 include new concepts, materials, applications, products, chemicals and dyes, recycled materials and recycling technologies, as well as production technology, digitalisation and AI solutions. The Texprocess Innovation Award 2026 focuses on economic quality, ecological quality, digitalisation and AI, and quality improvement.
Applications will be evaluated by two independent juries of international experts from research and industry. Eligible developments must have been on the market for less than two years or be close to launch. Participation is free of charge.
The awards have previously highlighted breakthroughs such as recyclable fibre composites for aviation, self-cooling façade textiles and 4D body scanning methods. The winners of the 2026 edition will be formally presented on the opening day of the fairs, 21 April 2026.
