Dutch textile innovator Byborre has been named the Coolest Dutch Brand of 2025, an accolade awarded annually to purpose-driven brands that place sustainability at the heart of their business. The honour, curated by Fonk magazine, celebrates brands that combine cultural relevance with a clear commitment to social and environmental responsibility.
Each year, twelve nominees are shortlisted by the editors of Fonk and assessed by a jury of sixty creative professionals and brand strategists. Byborre was selected not only for its design-led approach but for its decade-long commitment to transforming how textiles are made, prioritising responsibility and reduced impact across its operations.
While the company is known for pioneering innovative knitwear and material development, Byborre emphasised that its mission goes beyond textiles alone. In a statement marking the recognition, the company reinforced that collaboration across the full value chain is essential to achieving real progress in reducing the environmental footprint of the textile industry.
“Being named Coolest Dutch Brand is a great moment,” the company said. “But more than that, it’s a signal from the creative community that this mission matters and we have allies. We cannot improve this industry alone – transformation begins with collective action.”
