Taking place from 11–13 March 2026 at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai, Yarn Expo Spring 2026 is set to build on the record-breaking success of the 2025 edition, which welcomed nearly 24,000 visitors from 123 countries and regions. Over 560 exhibitors showcased their latest developments, with regenerated fibres and yarns attracting the strongest visitor interest — accounting for 57% of sourcing activity.
Reflecting this momentum, Yarn Expo Spring 2026 will continue to act as a vital global platform for driving sustainable progress across the yarn and fibre industries.
Ms Wilmet Shea, General Manager of Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, commented: “The remarkable business results and feedback from our previous edition demonstrate the industry’s unwavering commitment to sustainable innovation. As we approach Yarn Expo Spring 2026, we are witnessing a convergence of market demand, technological advancement and environmental responsibility. The show’s position as Asia’s premier yarn and fibre platform has never been stronger, and we anticipate another global showcase of cutting-edge solutions as the industry accelerates its journey towards a greener future.”
The global sustainable yarn market is forecast to expand significantly, from approximately USD 5.2 billion in 2026 to around USD 10.1 billion by 2033, representing a compound annual growth rate of about 7.6%. This rise is being fuelled by consumer demand for eco-friendly textiles, stricter environmental regulations, and ongoing innovation in sustainable fibre technology. Natural plant-based yarns such as cotton, linen, hemp and bamboo continue to hold the largest market share by volume, underscoring the growing preference for renewable and biodegradable materials.
Exhibitors at the 2025 edition praised the event’s focus on sustainable sourcing. Mr SM Ameer, Director of Din Industries, Pakistan, said: “We specialise in manufacturing a variety of yarns, including 100% cotton blends and synthetic options. Sustainability is a key focus for us; we work with natural, regenerated and recycled fibres. At this fair, we’ve met more buyers than expected, with particularly strong interest from France, Indonesia and Türkiye.”
The 2026 fair will continue to highlight innovation and sustainability through its comprehensive fringe programme, including the China Fibers Fashion Trends Show, China Fibers and Yarns Fashion Trends, the Textile Materials Innovation Forum and the Enterprise Product Launch. These events will provide valuable insights into the latest market directions, technological breakthroughs and sustainable solutions shaping the global yarn and fibre sectors.
Mr Wenchao Ma, Head of Research & Development at Dezhou Shangkai Tex Co Ltd, noted: “We are participating at Yarn Expo Spring to better understand the latest trends in the textile industry. Through in-depth exchanges with industry peers and exposure to new product launches, the fair guides our company’s future innovation and development.”
Yarn Expo Spring is organised by Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd and the Sub-Council of Textile Industry, CCPIT. It will be held concurrently with Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics – Spring Edition, Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles – Spring Edition, CHIC and PH Value, enabling exhibitors and visitors to maximise business opportunities across the textile supply chain.
